Decisive day for Nati Meir

After he has announced he retreats from the presidential running, Nati Meir was assaulted by thousand of phone calls and messages from his supporters who ask him to review his decision.

A concrete proof for the popularity the presidential competitor enjoys was the proposal, made by Mrs.Iantoc Adriana from Campulung Muscel, district Arges (phone number 0740.708.782), and related by Mr. Meir at “ Gossiping with Bahmu” show, who has declared she knows where is buried Elodia and agrees to offer 50% from the reward , promised by Dan Diaconescu, to Mr. Meir so he may pursue his electoral campaign.
Mr. Nati Meir has announced he will make public his decision until the end of the day, as he has promised.

Nati Meir replies to Oana Zavoranu

On “Oana Zavoranu Show”, broadcasted yesterday, the 13th of October , the entertainer has asked Mr. Meir, in her specific manner, why he refuses to participate at her show.
Replying, Mr. Meir states:
“ I rarely arrive to refuse to participate at one emission , as proof being my participations of this evening at “Focus Monden”, broadcasted by Prima TV channel, at 23,00 hours and presented by Andreea Fried and Dan Cruceru, and at “Un show pacatos”, presented by Dan Capatos on Antena 1, beginning with 23,45 hours.
I have also accepted Oana’s invitation on 29.09.2009 but, while I walked toward the OTV studios, I received a call from the producer of her emission who announced me I won’t appear in the show anymore.
I wish answer , on this way, to Oana: I will enjoy to participate to your show but I expect from “Oana Zavoranu show” team a written invitation , so I won’t be anymore in the situation to change my program.”

Open letter to Mr. Nati Meir

“Regardless of the poll results and of the media speculations , for me what really counts is the citizen’s opinion”.- has declared Mr. Nati Meir. We publish below, from the hundreds, a supporting letter received by Mr. Meir

Good afternoon, Mr Meir,

This open letter is my personal statement where I wish to underline and, if possible, to share with the others my opinion about your person and your actions in a country where the future seems to be with no hope for many of us and the opportunities belong only to potentates .
I’ll do all my best to forward this letter to all that means media in this country and, who knows, maybe for some opinion builders may count, in this turbid period, the simple one’s feelings. As I am.
After the unlucky events I recently lived and the manner which entwined our destinies, I wish to publish my opinion about you as man.
Some times ago, I’ve sent you a letter which described the unfortunate incident which could affect the stability of my family on all plans.
Your warm answer came surprisingly but it was no surprise for me ‘cause it was confirmed me, with no doubt, that my perception about you is true.
Maybe it sounds too familiar what I’ll affirm but I have always considered that ascending with perseverance , thanks his own qualities and through the hazard of life on a high pedestal but continuing to look at the others as your equals is a quality more rare, in these days, than real diamonds. And worthy of our whole esteem. And you, as you are and behave , are more than worthy of this esteem.
You, Mr. Meir, were the only one, among the hundreds , maybe the thousands persons, I have contacted in an inhuman demarche of a father, husband and householder, being in a desperate situation, who didn’t turn your back on me.
As all the others have done.
People who, instead of a polite refusal or a well meant advice, have chosen to ignore me , in barbaric and flagrant way, so I found my unrestricted confidence in my neighbors to be convulsed. And this “ treatment” I received from important persons who take the front page of the public and political life and who try by all means, especially in this electoral year, to convince us they detain the secret of all that means to be a MAN. But these statements are nothing else than façade, I found out by myself.
You were the only one who were receptive to my problems ,which I don’t describe here, and who has offered me an advice, a consolation and who has shown his availability to give me an unexpected help which could bring me and my family to a haven.
You have sent me the invitation to meet in Bucharest to discuss in details and to choose together a solution. It was an unique honor for me to meet you and the trip from Baia Mare to Bucharest was , maybe, the most important in my life, because this trip renders me the trust in people , in valuable, but so rare, principles, as compassion and humanism.
Unfortunately, the hazard plays an important role in everyone’s destiny and, when I have pursued your invitation, I found you caught in a infamous game, organized by your political opponents , a dirty trial of awkward libels and setups, as consequence as they felt and are continuously feeling being threatened by you, as a real and imminent danger for their so convenient position.
After these indignant events then you haven’t had the possibility to carry my heaviness too, which is understandable, I compare with you that the reproachful attempts, your “honorable” adversaries had put on to depreciate you, have affected me and your other defenders. And I assure you, we are not a few.
What I’ve wished to underline in this letter is the fact you are a political person, a candidate for the Romanian presidency, who was moved and impressed by the destiny and the life of only one person, me.
A better, more suggestive and eloquent description for Nati Meir, as person, I don’t believe it exists. At least not in Romania where words, especially those winnowed before the elections, haven’t any value, a true fact equals all the words in world.
That is why I assume as a purpose to impart my experience with everyone and to let them to draw their own conclusions about “ who is Nati Meir?”
Unfortunately I have lost almost everything , I haven’t anything to loose more but the true and the sincerity are the facts anyone can’t take me away. This is my answer to anyone who could accuse me that this letter has an occult intention or I have something to gain. All I have said is my free, voluntary and sincere opinion about Nati Meir.
It’s harder to afford to loose your trust in people as to loose all you possess.
And I didn’t loose it thanks to you; that is why I want to thank you.
As I said at the beginning, I will do all I can to share my true conviction with the others , through all media ways, as they don’t experience, after the elections, to feel the bitter taste of being ignored as I was not long ago. By all, except you.
I thank you.

With esteem
Barsan Constantin

Nati Meir proposed to be also spiritual father for Romanians

After 14 years since Romania became his second country , Nati Meir was, for the first time, on the 26th of September, the godfather of a young Orthodox couple.
Since that moment, even more young people appeal to him to accept to be their spiritual guardian. One of these requests, sent on the personal e-mail address of Mr. Meir, from a pair, whose spiritual richness is very impressive, may be read below:
“ we are Andrei and Andreea, 21 and respectively 26 years old, we live in Sibiu, on Andrei Popa Street, together with my future husband’s mother and other 2 brothers, having a very poor material situation.
My future husband works in a factory for pencil coal, with 550 Ron per month, and I work some hours per day as babysitter for only 200 Ron. My mother-in-law has a severe handicap, suffering of multiple sclerosis and tetraparesis spastic. We are living 5 persons in one room-house at underground floor.
In one word, our situation, from financial point of view, is desperate , our single richness being our love and the deep respect we feel towards you. We know you have helped a lot of persons , we know you have a great heart and that’s why we ask you, from the deepness of our soul, to accept to be our spiritual guardian , our godfather, we need you a lot . You are the only person who really deserves to be the president of Romania. We and our families are sustaining you in all you attempt and we hope with all our heart that you’ll become our president and our godfather, ‘ cause we haven’t anyone besides us to help.
We wish you the best luck in the world and are waiting for your reply.

With great respect
Andrei and Andreea “

Nati Meir sustains the protest of the foreign students of UMF “Carol Davilla”

The foreign students of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Carol Davilla” from Bucharest are joining the protest of their colleagues of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy from Cluj-Napoca and organize today, at 12,00 hours, a manifestation at the university head office.
The manifestation will take place simultaneously in Bucharest and Cluj- Napoca, while the students’ action in Oradea will take place on Tuesday, the 13.rd of October, as they didn’t received the approval for today.
The cause of these protests consists in the significant increase of the tuition costs and its announcement only one week before the beginning of the school year. This situation has forbidden them to pay the taxes in due time so they risk to not receive the study visa and to be obliged to leave Romania.
About this action, Mr. Nati Meir has stated:

“ I have sustained the protest of the students in Cluj and I will join today, at 12,00 hours their colleagues in Bucharest, because I consider that their problems must be urgently solved. If our government doesn’t find the time to analyse their request, the universities will loose both students and money.”

In his speech, Mr. Meir has underlined that he had also desired to have the opportunity to discuss with King Cioaba. Regarding the circumstances he has interfered , in the last period, with members of the rroma community, Mr. Meir informed His Excellency he has been contacted by many persons asking him money in change of their support in elections , the conclusion which results being that “ the gypsies can be bought”.
This is, unfortunately, a fact with reference to a great number of persons, whose vote may be obtained on mercantile basis instead of a true program for the benefit of the whole society.
Replying, King Cioaba has stated he is consequent in his option and will support, on the 22nd of November, the actual president. Mr. Meir’s answer, reiterating one of the article of his site, has revealed the same consequence in choosing “ the littlest evil”.
Being asked by King Cioaba which were the measurement he would attempt for the benefit of the rroma community, if he accedes to the supreme function in state, Nati Meir has replied:
“I’ve traveled a lot in country and abroad and I’ve met everywhere gipsy beggars. That is why I consider an ample social and professional integration program as being the most important thing to do for this community.”

Nati Meir’s statement at the protest of the students from Cluj

Exclusive news: Nati Meir’s statement at the protest of the students from Cluj
Being between the protesting students of the Medicine & Pharmacy University “Iuliu Maniu” from Cluj, Nati Meir stated: “Starting with this morning I am being in Cluj, together with the students, indignant with the increase of the tuition cost for the school year 2009/2010, which I’ll give all my support in order to solve this matter. I have accompanied them on their protest march and I have also participated at the discussions with Mr. rector Constantin Ciuce. The negotiations are not finished but, for the moment, the conclusion reveals that the solving of this problem surpasses the competence of the university’ management.
The increase of the tuition cost, being adopted on OUG 22/29.08.2009 basis, with applicability beginning 2009/2010, its solving may be fulfilled only by the Government.
For this reason the students from Cluj are appealing to their collegues from the other university cities as Iasi, Timisoara, Bucharest, Oradea, Arad in order to organize, during the next week, an ample action in front of the Government Building and to ask for a meeting with the minister of education. I consider the situation of these students as very critical as far as the payment of the tuition cost conditions the obtaining of the study visa, in its lake they being obliged to leave the country. I will stand them by .”

You’ll find below last minute news , published by the local press: In these moments, in Cluj, is running the protest of the international students from the Medicine & Pharmacy University . The reason of their protest is the increase of the tuition cost, at the beginning of this school year, not only for the freshmen but for all students attending the classes of IMF.
“The University will loose its prestige acting in this manner with us and will acquire a bad reputation after such a initiative, “ declares Johhny Kasskawo, the leader of the Swedish students. At the students’ protest has also participated the independent candidate for presidency , Nati Meir. He explained his participation as being requested by the students who have asked for his help.
“The increase of the tuition cost as well as the Romanian students’ problems regarding the hall places may determinate them to leave Romania for other universities, which is not positive for us. Cluj may be the start point for a protest at national level and I recommend the students of all important university cities to join to this action.” has declared Mr. Meir.
The students will flock from the new Rector’s Building , of Victor Babes Street, to the City Hall and the old Rector’s Building, of Emil Isac Street.

Nati Meir is invited to the protest manifestation of the students from Cluj

Friday, the 2nd of October 2009, the independent candidate to the Presidency, Mr. Nati Meir, will meet the students’ delegation in medicine who organized the protest action of last Friday, the 25th of September.
The spontaneous younger’ action , of the last week was caused by the unexpected increase of 1000 dollars of the tuition tax for the school year 2009/2010.
Mr. Meir’s visit of tomorrow, at the invitation of the students, is occasioned of an ample claiming action , where more than 5000 students are expected to participate and to present a list with their specific revendications.
About this protest, Mr. Meir has stated:
“My participation to this action is close to my interest regarding the tuition system which is, in my opinion, essential for the healthy development of the society and which I have included between the priorities of my political platform. The students have considered I were the most indicated politician to discuss with a plan for the solving of their specific problems, and I remembered the ’68 protest action of the French students, with their leader, Dany le Rouge”, surely the journalists will compare me. I wish to state that the politicians must give a real importance to this event, apparently minor, not forgetting that the students’ protest from 40 years ago was followed by manifestations at national level.”
It must be mentioned that Mr. Meir belongs to the first politicians involved in the problematic situation of the students from Cluj, having himself a student in the family, in the person of his son. In the same time it’s astonishing the lake of interest of the government regarding these problems, as well as the prime minister, himself, is originated from Cluj.
Mr. Nati Meir expresses his hope that this visit will contribute to relax the tense atmosphere at the beginning of the university year in Cluj.

Nati Meir’s History

Well-known for his non-conformist actions and initiatives, the first candidate to dare to associate his name with that of a model and a manele singer. Nati Meir was also the first candidate which understood how to become closer to the people, regardless of ethnicity and social status; and to be there for them in the special moments of their lives, a blueprint happy adopted by other candidates in the pre-electoral period by other competitors.
Here is an article Libertatea published on the 21st of September 2009.
As we have previously written in the article, “Nati Meir makes history once again- for the first time he will be godfather”, this week-end will mark a premiere in the life of the presidential hopeful- being godfather for a young Christian couple of mixed ethnicity.
The 26th of September will also be a time when the partnership between Nati Meir and Adi Minune will surpass the political level and will their bond will become much stronger.
We would like to state that the moment when the ceremony will begin has been modified and the young couple is expected to exchange “I do’s”, in the town hall of Barcanesti, starting with 16:00, instead of 12:00, as it was previously announced.
Let us wish them “All the best” in their new life together!

Nati Meir challenges Mircea Badea

Watching the show “In gura presei”, presented by Mircea Badea, who stated that he cannot understand a word that Mr. Nati Meir says, the presidential hopeful has decided to challenge the Mr. Badea to an unique contest:
“I admit that I do not master the Romanian language very well however, I am doing the best I can to improve my language and am taking private tutoring lessons, but to state that I am completely incomprehensible, is a bit exaggerated.
So I dare to challenge Mr. Badea to a theme show, “Can you understand what Nati Meir is saying?” I propose that this contest be held in the studios of the Intact media trust, following a regulation accepted by Mr. Badea, as well. The percentage of the people who understand what I am saying will be monitored by Mr. Badea’s team. If I succeed to make myself understood by at least 51% of the viewers who voted, I firmly believe that Mr. Badea, well-known for his
sportsmanship, will declare himself beaten or in turn, declare me winner. And because each contest must have a stake, I will put 10.000 Euro on the line and I will allow Mr. Badea to establish what he puts on the line. I suggest that the winner donate the respective sum to an orphange.
I am convinced that Mr. Badea will be happy to participate.

Nati Meir: “Shana Tova" !

Saturday and Sunday, the 19th of September and the 20th of September, respecitvely, Jews celebrate Rosh Hashana, or the passing into the year 5770, in the mosaic calendar.
Addressing the entire political class in Romania, on this “Judgement Day”, as it is considered by Jews, Mr. Nati Meir stated: “For me, and for Jews around the world, these days offer an occasion to revaluate life, pray for the forgival of our sins and hoping for a change for the
better.
I consider that now, in the period preceding the elections, that this should be the main concern for politicians in Romania.
Fierce political battles and contradictory discussions are proving useless. The forefront of our actions should be striving for a better future for Romania and returning to God.
Shana Tova! is the wish I address to my co-citizens and “Have a great year! To all Romanians.

Although he has been in this county for over 14 years, Mr. Nati Meir will be named for the first time as godfather for a young Orthodox couple.

Good luck to all students in the new school year

The beginning of the new school year is a time for emotion and eagerness for students, children and teachers, alike.
This event, which should be a festive one, is marked with controversy regarding didactical, organizational and political issues, all deepened by the crisis that our country is facing.
The Romanian education system is one of the major chapters in Nati Meir’s political program. We present to you his view regarding this event:
“Considering the fact that the beginning of a new school year is a special occasion in the life of any child, I wish all of them good luck in their studies and may they achieve high grades. To the politicians that have speculated the flaws in the education system in their benefit, I propose that we stand by the children, in soul and without petty interests.

Mr. Nati Meir’s electoral anthem

As we have already told our readers, the collaboration between Nati Meir and Adrian Minune has borne fruit: the composition of the candidate’s electoral anthem.
In today’s issue, 11.09.2009, of Cancan the first lyrics are published.
We publish the full lyrics below:

A jew and a gypsy
Nati Meir and Adrian
Come today to entertain you
Because they would like to candidate

Chorus:
To rid this country of thieves
Come, let us all unite!
With the vote that you will give me
You will never regret it

I have roamed the country
And have seen a hard life
Romanians have no joys
And have nothing to give their children

I candidate for you
To rid you of your needs
Everyone has given you empty talk,
We want to switch to actions

The composer Adrian Minune will sing this anthem, for the first time, in the “Observator” show on Antena 1.

Everything begins in Craiova

Mr. Nati Meir, independent candidate for the Romanian Presidency, has launched in Craiova, within a press conference, a support program for all disadvantaged people in Romania: people with handicaps and special needs, disadvantaged pensioners, prisoners released from jails, regardless of ethnicity and social class.
If the Romanian Government has launched the “First House” program this year, then Mr. Nati Meir has launched in Craiova the “First Chance” program, aimed at the reintegration of released prisoners from penitentiaries, ignored by the authorities, presenting here some concrete examples.
The climax of this meeting with the mass-media from Craiova was the unfortunate event where Mr. Mircea Geoana did not keep his word and left 400 important members of the Jewish community in Washington waiting.
In attendance at this meeting were Mr. Leonida Mandache, adviser on Rroma problems for Mr. Nati Meir, which has announced in Craiova the beginning of a series of concerts, a part of the electoral campaign, where the greatest manele singers headed by Mr. Adrian Minune will be present.
A special remark to Mr. Adrian Pintea, currently employed in Mr. Nati Meir’s electoral staff, one of the first beneficiaries of the “First Chance” program, a man released from prison a few months ago has shown that with his presence of mind that for Mr. Nati Meir: “ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS”.

Nati Meir invited to the Rroma culture days

Every year, on the 8th of September, when the birth of the Mother of God is celebrated, rroma from the entire country converge in Costesti. It is an opportunity for them to present their music, traditions and habits-but also, their most prized possessions.
At the invitation of Mr. Ninel Potarca, president of the Patronage of Rroma Businessmen and candidate for the Romanian Presidency, Nati Meir will be present today, 15:00 hours at the annual Festival in Costesti.
On this occasion, Nati Meir will have a private meeting with Mr. Florin Tanase Cioaba, king of the rroma all across the world and first vice-president of the World Rroma Organization. The subjects discussed will include: the problems in the education system, discrimination, poverty and other subjects concerning the life of this community.
Nati Meir will be accompanied by racing driver Daniel Onoriu, who has decided to help the candidate in his electoral campaign, he stated in “Atac” newspaper: I have met Nati Meir, personally, this week and I was impressed by the openness with which he addresses the problems of the ethnicity of which I am a part of. I originate from a famous and well-respected family of traditional music singers; I am the grandson of Gabi Lunca and Ion Onoriu. Despite this fact, I have always had to support my passion for motorsport by myself without any help from anyone despite my performing at the highest level. I have had a short discussion with Nati Meir and we are willing to try our luck as... a long race crew.

Elena Udrea: “If Nati Meir offers a reward, then I will not offer one”

Finding out about the theft of the unfinished work of art by Catalin Mihalache, depicting the bust of the Minister of Tourism, Elena Udrea, Mr. Meir has announced that he is willing to offer a consistent reward to the person that recovers the art piece; thus, allowing the artist to complete it.
This news which was posted on the Presidential hopeful’s website and taken by the media, has reached Mrs. Udrea’s ears, as well and she has agreed with Nati Meir’s proposition.

Libertatea comments this in an article published on the 5th of September 2009:

Nati Meir rewards Elena Udrea’s bust

After Nati Meir has declared that he is willing to contribute to the finding of the missing clay bust of Elena Udrea, the Minister of Tourism is no longer worried that the sculpture is missing from artist Catalin Mihalache’s workshop. Udrea has promised a reward to the person who finds the stolen sculpture however, upon hearing that Nati Meir intends to offer a reward, she has changed her mind. “Someone is probably looking for some odd publicity. I am referring, of course, to the person who stole the art piece. I have said that I will offer a reward, but if Nati Meir is also offering a reward then, I will no longer offer a reward,” declared Elena Udrea last Friday. During the course of last week, the clay sculpture representing the bust of Elena Udrea has been stolen from Catalin Mihalache’s workshop in the town of Milcov, Olt county.

“As a sign of my friendship with Mr. Dorin Cocos, whom I know for more than 12 years, I have decided to offer a reward to the person that recovers the art piece. I inted to return the sculpture to the artist so that he may finish it. Furthermore, I will also order a sculpture from Catalin Mihalache, so that he will be able to pass this period of crisis more easily.
I hope my announcement will be heard and the chance to finish his sculpture will be given to him.” Taken from a press release issued by Nati Meir’s Press Office.

Adi Minune is mad at Geoana and now supports Nati Meir

On the site www.inpolitics.ro, on the 3rd of September 2009, the following article was featured:
EXCLUSIVE: Adi Minune is mad at Geoana and no longer offers him his support.

The king of manele in Romania, Adi Minune, is extremely cross with Presidential hopeful Mircea Geoana of PSD, but also with the honorific president of PSD, Ion Iliescu.

This is the reason why Minune has announced that he will offer his support to independent Nati Meir in the struggle for Cotroceni, for whom he will also compose a manea, despite his being a counselor for PSD in the Ilfovean township of Stefanesti. According to sources close to the singer, his anger began when during the local elections despite him campaigning for the Party of the 3 roses, he felt betrayed and abandoned by his new political family. Among others, Adrian Minune performed a grand concert in the village one day before the elections, at which all the villagers participated, regardless of their political preferences. At that time, Mircea Geoana was on an electoral visit to Stefanesti and as soon as Adrian Minune began his concert, Geoana fled without even acknowledging Adrian Minune’s presence, for fear of the press mocking him. The honorific president was more strategic than Geoana, upon hearing of Minune’s concert in Stefanesti, he refused to visit the township.

(Razvan Gheorghe)

Regarding this information, Nati Meir states:
“It is true, Adi Minune is offering me his support in the electoral campaign, we have agreed upon the conventions and conditions of our collaboration and to appear at various public events together.
This news is taken exclusively today the 4th of September 2009 by “Libertatea”, which offers its readers the details of this agreement.

Adi Minune stands by Nati Meir in his fight for Cotroceni

Invited as a special guest to the wedding of the son of businessman Ilie Filoti of Dolj county, where Adrian Minune was godfather, politician Nati Meir has announced that he has reached an agreement with Adrian Minune and that he will help him in his electoral campaign. “It is for the first time when a Jew forms a team with a gypsy, however I am doing this because I have a great deal of confidence in Adrian’s abilities, as he is my favourite singer. He will be a part of my campaign staff, we are seriously considering him for him to spearhead this campaign and we believe that luck will be on our side. We are already working on a manea(traditional Roma song), which will be my campaign anthem and which I will promote throughout the country, in order to convince the Romanian public to vote for me,” declared Nati Meir. Even if he was constantly asked to dance to his friends’ tunes, Florim Salam and Sorinel Pustiu, Adrian Minune has confirmed that he has accepted Nati Meir’s proposal, especially since he trusts him: “Where I get involved, luck comes by the barrel. We are thinking of a special campaign, where I will probably join him all across the nation, but also to sing for Nati Meir. I am glad that he has chosen to spend
tonight with us.” The party lasted until dawn, when the bride and groom retreated in order to
depart on their honeymoon.
